My Travels in Nepal - (May 2014)

Reached Gorakpur almost 3 hrs late, at 7.00 pm, took a share taxi for Sunauli border for 300 Rs. It took almost an hr and the crossing of border is quite easy. A guard standing at the post asked me where i am from and with the reply of 'from India', he said 'go' without asking any of my id or documents. My co passengers in the share taxi, a Nepali family arranged a stay in the Nepal side with good bargain (Rs 450/- room + dinner with chicken). The home stay owner also arranged a ticket for the first bus to Pokhara in the next morning.

Just after the Bhairawa bus station, the road goes through the Sal wood forest and the sun appears behind the distant Himalayas..

Another view of the road - Our bus took the East-West Highway. However, the route via Tansen and Butwal may be potholed, windy road, but known for more beautiful views.

Few youngsters near a small town with a river (probably Nya Belhani) on the way

A Kid who traveled in the same bus

A village scene on the way near Kawasoti

Road again

Near Bharatpur, a way directs towards the Chitwan National Park

A simple house on the way

Probably the Seti Gandhaki River, the road go along that for some distance

The cliff along the road side

A beautiful traditional house near Byas

The Terraced paddy fields near Byas
